Facial recognition has become a seamless part of our daily lives; just think of unlocking your smartphone. At Camping de Watertoren, we use this innovative biometric technology to manage access to our swimming pool and indoor play paradise. Curious about how this works? We will briefly explain it below.

8 steps to check-in
Step 1: Go to our website, then click on “My Account” in the top right-hand corner.
Step 2: Request a password using the email address we have on file
Step 3: Download the “de watertoren” app from the Google Play Store or the App Store
Step 4: Click on the “My Area” button and log in
Step 5: Go to your booking and swipe right to enable facial recognition
Step 6: Upload a (profile) photo
Step 7: Look into the scanner at the entrance gate
Step 8: The system recognises you and the gate opens immediately!
It really is that simple!
Instant recognition
As soon as the scanner recognises you, the entrance gate or door opens immediately. Your face effectively acts as your personal admission ticket. This means you never have to worry about forgetting or losing your pass or wristband.
The technology behind the system
When you choose this method, a computer programme analyses the specific physical features of your face based on the uploaded photo. If these identification points match the stored data, you are automatically granted entry.
To protect your privacy, the system converts these unique features into a digital template within a fraction of a second: a uniquely encrypted profile. This is a purely mathematical code that can never be reversed back into a recognisable image of a face. This encrypted data is stored in a highly secure digital vault. All of this data remains within the Netherlands and is protected by the highest possible form of encryption.
Important to know: Privacy is our top priority. All highly secured data is permanently and automatically deleted from our system one day after your departure.
Reliable partners and secure data
For the implementation of this technology, Camping de Watertoren partners with EasySecure, a renowned specialist in access management that holds both ISO 27001 and Data Pro certifications. They utilise software from IdentySoft. This software runs within the data centres of Cyso, which are fully certified in accordance with ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and NEN 7510 standards. The IdentySoft servers are distributed across three physically separated, maximum-security Tier-4 data centres in the Netherlands.
Camping de Watertoren uses this system exclusively to organise access to the swimming pool and indoor playground efficiently and safely for its guests.
Entirely voluntary
The use of facial recognition is one hundred per cent voluntary. If you would prefer not to have your face scanned, that is absolutely fine. Simply inform our reception team upon arrival. Our staff will ensure you receive an alternative entry pass so that you can still enjoy all our facilities.
As a guest, you also retain the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Should you choose to do so during your stay, you can also visit reception for an alternative solution.

Camping de Watertoren introduces facial recognition as a modern, efficient solution for access control and presence registration at our swimming pool and indoor play paradise. Thanks to this system, our guests enjoy quick and smooth access to these amenities without the need for physical items such as passes or wristbands.
The technology scans the specific contours and points of the face and converts them into a highly secure digital template. This is done via a patented algorithm protected by strong AES256 encryption. Because these templates can never be traced back to an actual image of a person, your privacy remains guaranteed at all times.
In collaboration with EasySecure, Camping de Watertoren guarantees a high standard of personal data protection. The software is reliably hosted by Cyso within three geographically separated Tier-4 data centres in the Netherlands, representing the highest class of data centre security and availability (compliant with ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and NEN 7510). All collected data is used solely for the stated access purposes and is completely automatically deleted exactly one day after the end of your booking.
We reiterate that participation in this system is entirely voluntary. If you prefer to bypass this technology, we will gladly provide you with an alternative access method at reception. Your comfort, safety and the protection of your privacy are the absolute top priorities for Camping de Watertoren.
